Lời Chúa phán đầy hứa hẹn cũng như đầy thách đố, vì không những Thiên Chúa vừa khởi sự công trình đổi mới này mà còn vừa mời gọi chúng ta cùng cộng tác với Người. Mùa Chay là thời gian thuận tiện giúp chúng ta sửa soạn tâm hồn để lắng nghe lời mời gọi của Thiên Chúa và mau mắn tham gia vào công cuộc sáng tạo của Người.
Theo khoa học và văn hoá cổ truyền Việt Nam chúng ta, “kim, mộc, thuỷ, hoả thổ” là năm yếu tố cơ bản trong thuyết Ngũ Hành, cấu thành vạn vật trong vũ trụ. Tĩnh tâm Mùa Chay năm nay, con xin mời quý ông bà anh chị em cùng với con phản ảnh và suy tư vào công trình sáng tạo của Thiên Chúa qua lăng kính của những yếu tố gần gũi này để chúng ta sống đức tin Kitô Giáo một cách phù hợp hơn với văn phong tập tục của người dân nước Việt.

Kính thưa quý tu sĩ, ông bà và anh chị em quí mến, Mùa phụng vụ đang sắp kết thúc, và chúng ta bắt đầu hướng lòng đến việc chuẩn bị cho Mùa Vọng, sẵn sàng đón chờ Đấng Cứu Thế đến. Cảnh sắc lá cây thay màu và thời tiết se lạnh như nhắc nhở chúng ta về nỗi khát khao sâu thẳm trong lòng, dẫn chúng ta đến nơi có thể gặp gỡ tình yêu, hy vọng và bình an.
